News Release: Major changes coming to TriMet service in Gresham

TriMet is eliminating bus service on Line 82-South Gresham
effective Sunday, Aug. 23. The LIFT paratransit service boundary will
change as a result, affecting a small number of LIFT riders.

Major changes are coming to TriMet effective Sunday, Aug. 23.
As part of the upcoming service changes, TriMet is eliminating Line 82-
South Gresham. This bus line currently provides weekday service between
the Centennial and Powell Valley neighborhoods. TriMet does not plan to
replace this service, due to very low ridership on Line 82.

Due to the elimination of Line 82, TriMet’s LIFT paratransit service area will
shrink in the South Gresham area. This change will affect a small number
of LIFT riders. All affected LIFT riders have been notified and provided with
alternative options.

Other bus lines that serve Gresham, including the Frequent Service lines
FX2-Division, 9-Powell Blvd and 20-Burnside/Stark, will continue to
operate as before. However, some bus schedules may change. Check
trimet.org to plan your trip. Be sure to set your travel date for Aug. 23 or
later.

paratransit rider with questions, call LIFT Customer Service at 503-962-
8000.

The August service changes are one part of TriMet’s multi-year strategy to
resolve a $158 million budget deficit by reducing expenses and increasing
revenue. These changes streamline transit service, focusing on areas
where people are most likely to ride, while reducing duplication and
eliminating service where ridership is very low.
