Job Title:         Technology Specialist

 

SUMMARY:

 

This Position is responsible for supporting all technology systems such as infrastructure equipment, employee workstations, and vendor hosted platforms. They will leverage a managed service provider for most day-to-day help desk support and coordinate with various vendors for on-premises and hosted environments. Detailed engineering support is typically provided through vendor agreements unless in-house expertise is available. The Technology Specialist will use their skills and experience to provide employee access, coordinate maintenance of systems, maintain inventories, and ensure operability of all technology within the bank’s enterprise. While this is primarily an internal support position, direct support to customers may occasionally be necessary.

The Technology Specialist reports directly to the Chief Information Officer. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

Technology Specialist:

  • Experience supporting enterprise systems such as Microsoft servers, networks, firewalls, routers, and workstations.
  • Experience supporting typical software packages such as Office 365, Adobe, and Teams
  • Ability to learn about mission specific software packages such as Deposit Pro, Laser Pro, Abrigo BAM+, Bankrite Touch, AccuSystems, and others.
  • Firm grasp of cybersecurity principles and strict adherence to best practices. An understanding of potential cyber threats, risks, and effective mitigations.
  • Troubleshoot a broad spectrum of systems while ensuring maximum up-time.
  • Work with external third-party technical support to resolve issues. 
  • Create and manage user profiles across various platforms.
  • Perform hands-on fixes including installing, upgrading, and replacing hardware and software.
  • Configure systems and applications in accordance with procedures and best practices.
  • Identify obsolete systems or misconfigurations and recommend replacements or upgrades.
  • Properly recycle decommissioned equipment according to approved security procedures.
  • Maintain inventory of equipment. 
  • Participate in audits and regulatory examinations.
  • Document work performed using a ticketing system or other approved resources.
  • Develop procedures or documentation to maintain continuity or train staff.
  • Coordinate projects under the direction of the Chief Information Officer. 
  • Provide training to employees to ensure efficient use of technology available.

  • Ability to carry equipment up to 50 pounds, crawl under desks and move around in confined spaces. 

 

Language Skills:

  • Can read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Can write correspondence and be able to effectively present information in one-on-one small group situations to both customers and employees. 

 

Requirements:

  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment.
  • Ability to master proprietary software used in business operations.
  • Evidence of the ability to practice a high level of confidentiality.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Might have to work later then scheduled shift/and or weekends.
  • Pass a Background Check

 

Education/Continuing Education:

  • Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • 2 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Related certifications or formal education is a plus but not required.
  • Maintain currency on bank services and products.
  • Successfully complete all assigned reading material and required compliance training. 
  • Maintain professional development using tools such as webinars and conferences.
  • Maintain relevant certifications.
