The Future of Healthcare by Tom Vogt

1. The US congress has been debating healthcare for 30 years, yet the key problems with our health care system are almost never discussed and are never addressed in the health bills passed by either party. This is NOT about republican-democrat differences.
 
2. The US has the shortest life expectancy, highest infant mortality, and lowest patient satisfaction of all developed nations (around 30-35 nations, depending on who rates "developed.")
 
3. The US spends about twice as much on health care as any other developed nation.
 
4. All other developed nations, as well as about 30 less developed nations (about 65 nations in total), have universal health care with better outcomes for far less money. 
 
5. The real reasons for our costly and inefficient system will be discussed. All of the above information is easy to verify and references will be available to those who wish them. 
 
6. US healthcare is very complex, and all of the problems with our system cannot be addressed in so short a time. Though the most critical issues will be discussed, there is not time to go into the full list of issues that give the world's most dysfunctional health care system.
