Barbara Virgilio, MSW
Master of Social Work
Born and raised in Illinois, Barbara moved to Oregon in 1975. She graduated from Oregon State in 1994 with degrees in Sociology and Philosophy, and a Certificate in Gerontology. She worked in several nursing homes and did in-home case management for vulnerable seniors at Portland Impact. Barbara graduated from Portland State with a Masters in Social Work in 2004 and worked as a floating social worker in all four Portland Legacy Hospitals before finding her home at Mt. Hood Hospice in Sandy, where she's worked since 2007.
Jolie Phanton
Community Outreach Director | Volunteer Coordinator
Born and raised in Portland, Jolie graduated from University of Portland. She and her husband moved to a small farm east of Sandy in 2006.
For the last 16 years, she worked in youth sports and summer camp as Director of Communication. Several months after the pandemic hit and she was furloughed, the position at Mt. Hood Hospice opened up. Although the healthcare field was a place she never imagined being a part of, this has been a perfect fit. Working for a similar sized non-profit that shares the same values as her prior company, this is THE job she never knew she wanted. She continues her side gig with Blazer Broadcasting and is a longtime fan.
Jolie enjoys spending time in the great outdoors with her dogs, big family dinners, traveling and watching movies.
