“Are You an Aging Specialist?”
Plan on joining us on Thursday, July 14th for a presentation by Paul Wild, Mt. Hood Community College, to discuss aging issues that impact our jobs as healthcare providers.
We had such a great exchange of ideas and information at our April meeting, we wanted to have Paul follow-up with even more great facts and challenging ideas.
Hosted by:
Providence ElderPlace, 17727 E Burnside, Gresham
**Parking is extremely limited at ElderPlace (due to the MAX on Burnside), however, the ElderPlace bus will be available to shuttle guests from the Max Park and Ride at 181st & Burnside between 7:20 and 7:50. The actual Park and Ride location is about 2 blocks east of 181st. You may enter the Park and Ride coming from the west on Burnside or from the east or west on Pine (one block south of Burnside). The bus will again shuttle guests to their cars after the meeting. There is some street parking on 179th Ave and 176th Street, north of Burnside. Click here for Park and Ride details from the Tri-Met

Starting in 2016, the Gresham Area Chamber of Commerce Health and Wellness Group and Mt. Hood Community College (MHCC) will partner so you can earn college Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for participating in our monthly morning presentations at no cost to you. Oregon’s community colleges created CEUs for professional development courses as a way for participants to have their attendance in training transcripted by their local community college. CEUs cannot be used towards a certificate or a degree program at MHCC but they provide third-party verification of your participation in college-level training.
The process for getting CEUs will a simple four- step process:
- You will fill out an MHCC course registration form (at no cost to you)
- MHCC will provide you with information about the course title and course number
- Shelley Wright with the Chamber (or her proxy) will take attendance at each monthly morning session (you will most likely need to sign an attendance sheet)
- You will be awarded one CEU for every 10 hours of programing you attend
