In my professional life. I have worn many hats. I have been a floral designer, a camp counselor, a photographer, a salesperson, a business owner, a marketing director, a traveling marketing director, and more. I even sold cars once, just for fun. All my careers have been strongly centered around people.
I am originally from Texas and have lived in several other states including California and Ohio. I moved to Oregon in 2012. It is by far the best place I’ve ever lived. I love to travel, and have been to Germany, Austria, Mexico, Canada, New Zealand, and Israel. I also greatly enjoy camping and exploring all the beautiful places Oregon has to offer. A weekend spent outdoors, driving in my Jeep, swimming in a river, and hanging in my hammock is my idea of a good time.
My very favorite thing about working with Oasis Senior Advisors is that I get to come alongside seniors and their families to help them navigate through transition. Though transitions can feel daunting, they do not have to be difficult. Families can put their trust in me and know that I take that very seriously. I am proud to be part of an incredible team of like-minded people.
Geoff Kenway - Insurance Broker
I have a passion for helping people of all ages. Seniors, in particular, are the heart of my passion as now I am one. I have worked to learn everything about the insurance industry so I can be a guide to help my clients navigate the insurance arena. Many Seniors don't know how to get the most out of their insurance benefits. Long term care is an area that Seniors, although they don't have to be a Senior to enroll in a plan, need to learn more about before something prevents them from getting a plan.
In this industry they are captive agents that can Only recommend the one or few companies they represent. I have the freedom to explore most options with a variety of companies so you are not limited by an agent's personal agenda or interests.
Often, I hear, "I don't know how to use or get the most out of my insurance plan. I begin by educating my clients on the benefits of their plan and show them where to look for answers including calling me if they get stuck..
The examples of what I cover are:
1) The difference between an HMO and a PPO.
2) The Federal mandates that a client can use at no cost.
3) The difference between Medicare and Medicaid.
4) Do they qualify for subsidies to reduce prescription costs?
I am the "go to person" that my clients can rely on in most situations and assure my clients that if I don't know, I will find the answers for them.
