Tapping in to Gresham?s long history with jazz, a new jazz series is coming to Historic Downtown Gresham. Jazz with Tom Grant will kick off the series on October 11, 2018, at the SALT Academy building, 333 N. Main Avenue. Center for the Arts Foundation and the Gresham Historical Society are excited to bring jazz evenings back to Gresham in a fall-spring schedule. Well-known and beloved jazz musicians Tom Grant and Ron Steen, accompanied by bass player, Kevin Deitz and guest vocalist, Danielle Barker, will entertain in a concert-style performance. Doors open at 6:30 pm with music at 7:15 pm. Jazz music continues to be as popular as ever at Mt. Hood Community College with jazz instructor Dan Davey, and strong programs throughout local middle and high schools. The Gresham/Mt.Hood Jazz Association is collaborating as well with the College in plans for a nationally-known jazz artist concert in Spring 2019. October 11th?s evening will include no-host beverages and canapes during a pre-concert social time at 6:30 pm. Tickets $45 advance sale and $50 at the door.
