SUMMARY:Business & Leaders Luncheon
DESCRIPTION:Topic: In a traffic jam? How will toll roads help? \n\n\n\nInterested in making transportation better in our community? The Oregon Department of Transportation wants to hear from you!\n\nPlease join us for a conversation with a team from the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT).\n\n	What's happening with ODOT's Urban Mobility Office\, I-5 Rose Quarter Improvement Project\, and the Oregon Toll Program.\n	The key problems or priorities we should be trying to address on I-5 and I-205 through these projects.\n	Your needs for successful\, equitable projects on I-5 and I-205.\n	Answers to common questions\, such as:\n	\n How will tolling work?\n When will tolling start?\n What parts of the highways are going to be tolled?\n What is included in the Rose Quarter project?\n How do auxiliary lanes work with tolling to relieve congestion?\n	\n	\n\n \n\n About the Oregon Toll Program \nODOT has two toll projects underway in the Portland metro area - the I-205 Toll Project and the Regional Mobility Pricing Project - to manage traffic on I-205 and I-5 in a way that is equitable and addresses climate change and safety. While separate projects\, they inform each other. Toll prices will be higher at peak traffic times\, a concept known as "congestion pricing." In addition to managing traffic\, congestion pricing will raise money for investments that improve travel. With both projects:\n\n\n	Drivers only pay for what they use.\n	Tolls help traffic move more smoothly.\n	Tolls provide a more reliable trip.
